Soaked in tropical fruit intensity, this Rwanda is on hell of an exciting cup. It’s the Red Bourbon varietal of coffee, which is kind of what Western Rwanda has become known for. Mainly because it grows so well and abundantly in the rich volcanic soils there. When we cupped this one in the roastery, we knew we had to secure some and ordered it immediately. Not only grilled peach vibes going on; there’s pineappley notes, but layered with a touch of nuttiness and a little volcanic earthiness rounding everything out. It’s the high notes, it’s got the low notes, and smooths them all out for a harmonious mug of coffee - sound overly poetic? Wait ’til you try it…
