This Brazilian coffee comes from Minas Gerais and is a microlot from Luiz Romildo Inocencio. That’s the father of our coffee importing friend Gamma. Gamma’s dad’s coffee scored 85 on the Speciality Coffee Association of America - this is the score that really counts for speciality coffee - and it’s tasting delicious.

“My father worked in the farms since he was seven years old,” says Gamma. “70 years later, and he is still out there doing the harvests. He cut back the plants two years ago to help renew and revitalise the crop, and it takes two years to get fruit back from the plant. This is the first crop since the cut back.”

While the yield of this coffee is understandably low right now, it’s a great cup of coffee that holds a really rewarding sweetness, and a soft chocolatey finish.
